Terra Universal’s Respiration Test Cabinet facilitates inhalation and respiration studies on rodents at precisely controlled oxygen concentrations. Fabricated of 304 stainless steel, it contains sixteen rodent enclosures: eight for mice, 7.75"W x 13.5"D x 6.5"H (197 mm x 343 mm x 165 mm) each, and eight for rats, 13.5"W x 16"D x 8.75"H (343 mm x 406 mm x 222 mm) each. These chambers accommodate standard mouse and rat cages. The top control panel includes four quadrant control sets. Each of these control sets feeds four mouse or four rat chambers features its own set of control instruments: ON/OFF Switches for oxygen and air Air/Oxygen Mixer—provides mixture with precision of ± 3% of scale Mixed Gas Delivery Flow Meter—directs selected gas mixture to the four target chambers with precision of ± 2% of scale. Flow Meter Bypass—bypasses the flow meter to allow rapid chamber conditioning at the desired oxygen concentration during equipment set up. The rear panel features connectors for 0.25" (6 mm) OD input oxygen and air lines, regulators for each gas line, and four sampling ports (one for each of the control sets) to use for validating oxygen concentrations using an oxygen analyzer (not included). The Respiration Test Cabinet includes two filter housings accessible via six screws on the rear panel. One is for a charcoal filter, which removes urine odors. The other is for a 99.99% efficient HEPA filter (measured at 0.3 micron particles), which removes particles from the air mixture exiting the system.
