Stainless Steel Air Locks

Terra's improved air lock design ensures a leak-proof environment that minimizes nitrogen loss and contamination inflow while parts are passed into and out of the glove box. "Knife" edges along the doors seat against recessed polyurethane gaskets. Double-wall 304 stainless steel construction, with heavy-duty door latches and hinges, ensures a long service life.

Includes a .125" NPT opening for connection of purge gas and a .25" NPT outlet to accommodate an Automatic RB® (Relief/Bleed) valve.

Ordering Information: The chart below provides ordering information for air locks installed on each Terra glove box. Each air lock comes with a mounting flange that allows it to be retrofitted onto the specified glove box.

Elastomer-lined LatchGuard™ eliminates external contamination caused by metal-on-metal contact, enhances durability, and creates a controlled, “soft landing” seal as latch is engaged.

Air Lock with Pneumatic Door

This pneumatic access door solves several problems associated with pass-through air locks.

Because it travels vertically in an isolated track, it eliminates clearance requirements—giving you full use of every square inch of valuable glove box space. The pneumatic assembly and all moving parts are positioned outside the glove box in a separate housing, so the door will not threaten the integrity of the environment inside the process chamber. When the door closes, a piston mechanism seats it against the door frame to form an air-tight seal.

Ideal for Large Glove Boxes
Unlike standard air lock doors, this unit requires no awkward stretching with gloved hands—a common problem in large glove boxes with hard-to-reach air locks. A lever mounted outside the glove box allows easy opening and closing, making operation fast and convenient in even the largest glove boxes. The reliable operating mechanism requires no adjustment after initial installation.
