The FreeZone^® Plus™ 2.5 Liter Cascade Console Freeze Dry System features the dual cascade refrigeration system which can reach -84°C for processing samples with low eutectic points such as ones containing Acetonitrile. Several features on the model provide automation and convenience for the user. The LCD displays vacuum and temperature in user defined measurements as well as alarm messages, service information and operation parameters. It also displays total number of hours of refrigeration operation and time since the refrigeration has been serviced. A rear-mounted RS-232 port can transmit data to a user-supplied computer. A red alarm light flashes and sounds to indicate an abnormal system event has occurred, such as power failure, improper line voltage supply or collector temperature rising above -40ºC.

The FreeZone^® Plus™ 2.5 Liter Cascade Freeze Dry System comes equipped with a patented moisture sensor that prevents start up when moisture is detected in the collector chamber area and vacuum break valve to protect the vacuum from oil backstreaming. The upright stainless steel collector coil is capable of removing 2.2 liters of water in 24 hours and holding 2.5 liters of ice before defrosting. The compact console design makes it ideal for processing light to moderate loads of samples.

The FreeZone^® 2.5 Liter Cascade Benchtop Freeze Dry System is an economical solution offering a small footprint that fits easily on a small cart or crowded benchtop. Its compact design is ideal for dedicated use by one researcher and processing light loads of samples. It provides a high level of automation at the users control for convenience and efficiency. With the LCD display, personnel can choose how they’d like to view their information; vacuum in mBar, Pa or Torr and temperature in °C or °F. They can also configure it to show system operating parameters, set up parameters and alarm messages. The Vacuum control valve maintains setpoint vacuum level while a patented moisture sensor prevents refrigeration or vacuum start up when moisture is detected in the collector chamber area.

The benchtop model features a Dual CFC- and HCFC-free refrigeration systems, one 1/4 hp and one 1/3 hp, to cool collector to -84° C (-119° F). The brushed stainless steel front panel with blue accents provides an updated, sleek appearance and is corrosion resistant. The lid features a 3" (76 mm) diameter port allowing flexibility for finding a compatible drying accessory.
