Paramount Ductless Enclosures from Labconco

Paramount Ductless Enclosures are self-contained work stations that, unlike traditional fume hoods, do not require ducting from the outside.  The “ductless” advantage:

HIGH PERFORMANCE CONTAINMENT
Zone-Perforated Rear Baffle
The three zones baffle directs inflow air in non-turbulent horizontal laminar air streams from the sash opening to the baffle in a single pass.  The lower section provides more airflow at the bottom to help minimize the potential for air to roll forward toward the sash opening.

Clean-Sweep™ Air Foil
The aerodynamic air foil allows air to sweep the work surface for maximum containment. Clean-Sweep openings pull inflow air from under the air foil so that clean air continually flows through the air foil creating a constant protective containment barrier. Should the operator inadvertently block the airflow, air continues to pass under the air foil and through the Clean-Sweep openings.

Side-Entry Air Foils
Aerodynamic air foils located on either side of the sash opening direct clean airflow into the chamber.

Upper Dilution Air Supply
The upper dilution air supply introduces air from above the work area, which bathes the back of the sash with clean air and directs concentrations away from the sash opening.

Upper Containment Sash Foil
A small gap directly above the aerodynamic sash handle allows high velocity air to bleed into the chamber, reducing turbulence and directing concentrations away from the user’s breathing zone.

The Smart-Flow™ Airflow Monitor
		The Smart-Flow™ Airflow Monitor continuously monitors airflow and displays face velocity in the LCD. The monitor enables the motor to automatically adjust for conditions such as temperature, barometric pressure and filter loading.  Safe airflow is always maintained.

Black Solid Epoxy and Stainless Steel Work Surfaces
Chemical-resistant, black solid epoxy work surfaces are dished to contain spills and contoured to fit the dimensions of the Paramount. Type 304 stainless steel work surfaces include a 0.8” deep front trough to contain spills.

Work Surfaces with Deck-Mounted Service Fixtures
These chemical-resistant, black solid epoxy work surfaces are dished to contain spills and contoured to fit the dimensions of Paramount Ductless Enclosures. Pre-drilled holes allow installation of two deck-mounted service fixtures with hose barbs for plumbing to water, air and vacuum; a 3”x6” cupsink; and a gooseneck faucet with vacuum breaker. Two standard chrome-plated service fixtures with turrets, hose barbs, brass valves and 3/8” NPS pipe connections; a 3”x6” polypropylene oval cupsink; a brass cold water faucet with swivel/rigid gooseneck, brass valve and ¼” NPS pipe connection are included.

BASE STANDS*

Paramount Filters
Contain porous, coconut shell carbon for maximum adsorption. Roughing pre-filters are adhered to both sides of each filter to remove dust and other particles. All impregnated carbon filters contain 25% activated carbon by weight.

The Safety-First™ Organic Sensor gives the operator confidence that the filters are adsorbing and keeping hazardous vapors contained. The sensor detects filter breakthrough in the exhaust air and alerts the operator to replace the filters. Redundant monitoring by two sensors offers an added measure of safety. An early warning also provides the user a window of time (5-10% remaining filter life) in which to replace the filters.

Efficient Stable Filters
The Paramount uses seven different filter types for applications flexibility. An activated carbon filter adsorbs organic vapors and solvents. Five treated carbon filters chemically neutralize mineral acids, sulfur compounds, ammonia, amines, formaldehyde or iodine radioisotopes. A 99.99% efficient HEPA filter removes airborne particulates, dust and powders. Filters are stackable so that any two types of filters may be used in the Paramount at one time allowing for mixed chemical applications.
