Tenney T2 Test Chambers
T2C for Temperature Control
T2RC for Temperature and Humidity Control
The Tenney T2C and T2RC are and both capable of simulating a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions while taking up very little floor space. These test chambers are well suited for use in electronics, military and pharmaceutical quality assurance and reliability testing as well as research testing and production processes. The -75 to +200º C temperature range is regulated by proprietary controllers on both models.
Uniform conditions are assured through the use of a vertical-down recirculating conditioning stream. The system draws air from the bottom of the workspace as required, then discharges the air through a grille at the ceiling level. The compact design of the conditioning plenum allows the test chambers to offer a larger proportion of interior volume to exterior volume than that afforded by conventional chambers.
Control System: T2
Temperature conditions are controlled by a Watlow F4 controller. Profile operations include 24 step program capability, time / temperature profile-rate, or time-based programming, guaranteed soak deviation, and program looping. The W942 can also be used for simple single, or fixed set point operation.
An RTD sensor is used for temperature measurement. Dual outputs are configured in the time proportioned, On/Off, or switched DC modes. Two optional auxiliary outputs can be set up as alarms, or time-based events. Optional retransmit output allows the retransmit of set point or process variable. Data communication is optional using RS232/RS423, RS422, EIA-485, or IEEE interface.
Control System: T2RC
The T2RC provides humidity control from 20% RH to 98% RH over the temperature range of +20°C to +85°C, limited by a +3°C dew point, ±2% RH after stabilization, per MIL-STD-202 Method 106G.
Its proprietary Versa Tenn III controller provides complete automatic chamber control through a user-friendly alphanumeric display. The control is bi-directional, proportional for heating, cooling, humidification, and dehumidification. The proportional band and the reset are operator-adjustable. Logic circuits automatically select cooling, heating, and humidity modes as required.
Capabilities include
- 99 step programming capability with step-interval length of 99 hours.
- Looping and nested-loop capability. Loops can be repeated up to 225 times. Infinite looping is possible.
- Time-of-day start and delayed start functions up to two weeks.
- Guaranteed soak feature.
- Non-volatile memory for up to 5 years of power-off RAM protection
- Digital selection and display of actual conditions.

Water Quality Requirements for Humidified Chambers
(Particularly applicable to T2RC and CEO models)
- It is strongly recommended that you have your water supply tested for resistivity, as well as, organic and inorganic content before using the humidity system.
- The water supply to the humidty system must be demineralized or single distilled, and have a resistance measurement between 50,000 and 100,000 Ohm/cm (20 to 10 Microsiemens/cm). It is important that the water is very low in minerals. Otherwise, the system will become encrusted with minerals and cause system failure. If your supply water cannot meet the resistivity specifications, a cartridge ion exchanger should be obtained from through Terra Universal.
- Do not use double or triple distilled (ultra-pure) water. Pure water (greater than 1.0 Megohm/cm) will attack metals such as copper, brass, etc., and will drastically reduce the life of the humidity system.
- Never supply demineralized, or single distilled water to a Cartridge De-ionizer. (The result is double distiller water.)
- If your water supply test show that appreciable amounts of suspended particles are present, either a 5 micron or 25 micron polypropylene pre-filter should be installed. This filter may be needed in addition to an ion exchanger. All filter types can be obtained through Terra Universal.
- If your water supply test show that appreciable amounts of organic, free chlorine and chloramines, phosphate complexes and turbidity are present, a roughing filter (US Filter Model: Absorber) should be used. This filter may be needed in addition to an ion exchanger. All filter types can be obtained through Terra Universal.
- Due to periodic changes that could occur in the quality of city or well water supplies, you should check the water supply for resistivity and organic / inorganic content every one (1) to two (2) months.
