This muffle furnace features a large-capacity chamber and conventional firebrick in the base to provide maximum mechanical strength for large loads—up to 500 lbs.

Its low mass, high thermal resistant insulation reduces heat-up and recovery times: it heats from ambient to 1600°F in just 2 hours (unloaded). Helical-wound resistant heating elements recessed in refractory cement provide optimum heat transfer and chamber temperature uniformity. Silicon Carbide Hearth Plates provide protection for the bottom heating element. The door opens upward to keep the hot side safely away from the operator, and gas spring actuators assist in opening and closing the door. In addition, a door safety switch removes power to the heating elements when the door is opened.

This muffle furnace comes complete with a welded steel stand that allows chamber access at a convenient height. The heavy-duty welded steel case is finished in a two-tone tan/brown baked-on enamel paint. It is not supplied with cord and plug but has conduit connectors; Terra recommends power conditioning or a non-interruptible power supply.

Electronic single setpoint control enables you to heat up to one single setpoint level and hold that setpoint temperature. The microprocessor controls feature adjustable over-temperature protection, sensor-break protection, and digital readout of both setpoint and muffle furnace temperature. Controller comes with appropriate thermocouple.
