Like the standard Static-Dissipative PVC
Plating, this material provides excellent static protection,
yet its flexibility makes it ideal for many applications for
which standard plating would be unsuitable. It features a
surface resistivity between 107 and 108 ohms/square. Surface potential is no more than 100V, and half
decay time is no more than one second (with a 10 KV charge).
Tests show that Flexible Static-Dissipative
PVC maintains these properties under rugged conditions. Resistivity
and decay times remain unchanged after a 500-hour Fadeometer
test—corresponding to 10 years of UV radiation from a
standard 40w fluorescent lamp at 5 cm. Static dissipative
performance is not affected by low humidity or by contact
with water and a wide range of other chemicals. This material
is also completely noncombustible.
