This lightweight, precision Static Meter features a chopper stabilized sensor for long-term, accurate measurements in both normal and ionized environments.

The measurement range is from 0 to ± 20 kV at a meter-to-object distance of one inch. A 3.5-digit LCD meter provides 10-volt resolution, polarity indication and low battery warning.

The Meter uses LED ranging lights for increased measurement accuracy. A locking push button MEASURE / HOLD switch enables the user to take measurements and then hold the reading, a very useful feature when performing electrostatic experiments. A user-adjustable zero control increases the instrument’s versatility.

This Static Meter is housed in a compact, conductive case and incorporates a .25" male snap that accepts most wrist strap grounding cords. Also includes a 10-foot cord with removable alligator clip and a vinyl carrying case. Operates on a single 9-volt battery (included).

Charged Plate Detector
(for use with Static Meter)

• Allows fast, easy monitoring and balancing of ionizers in desiccators, work stations and other equipment

This Charged Plate Detector is designed to slip over the Static Meter (#3100-06) to provide a low cost, accurate check of ionizing equipment performance.

It provides a quick, easy way not only to check whether an ionizer is operational, but also to determine the ionizer output balance. When attached, the Detector increases the measurement sensitivity by a factor of 10, providing one-volt resolution. A banana jack input is provided to allow connection to a variety of accessories such as wrist straps, charged plates, and Faraday cups. The wrist strap connection allows the user to measure directly the voltage generated by the movement of personnel. The charged plate and Faraday Cup configurations provide a simple means for indicating the charge generation characteristics of different types of material and objects.
