Ergonomic Class 10 Cleanroom Chair
These Class 10 chairs take advantage of significant advancements in materials technology to combine Class 10-compatible cleanliness with ergonomic seat and back designs.
They use a porous nylon fiber matrix, laminated with a super-efficient filter media. This combination of materials for covering seats and backs gives Class 10 performance without the need for built-in filters or other devices. The new base material has the supple appearance and feel of soft glove leather, yet maintains superior durability and stain resistance. Its nylon fibers are laid down in a three-directional axis similar to the natural structure of collagen that is found in leather.
This porous structure allows the chair to breathe by transmitting moisture vapor through billions of tiny micropores, ensuring optimal comfort while minimizing the risk of particulate contamination. The material looks and acts like vinyl, making it easy to clean with soap and water. Because it is really nylon, however, it is resistant to common disinfectants and bleach, and it won't outgas or shed particles. Most importantly for those who use it, it's remarkably comfortable to sit on, and even compensates for temperature extremes. When the room temperature is warm, excess heat is dissipated; when a room is cold, heat is retained.
The synthetic filter media laminated to the base material is made of permanent electrets in the form of a fibrous mat. An electret is a nonconductive material with imbedded electrical charges that have an infinite life span. By incorporating electrostatic charges into the media, the filtration efficiency is enhanced over that normally expected from fibers of this size.
All of these chairs come with chrome-plating on all exposed metal parts except the polished aluminum bases, and hooded polyurethane casters for smooth, nonshedding rolling on hard surfaces. (Static-control models feature conductive casters.)
