Pass-Through Chambers with Fire-Rated Door

Fire-Rated Door

CleanSeam pass-through with fire-rated door (No. 1993-82A).

ValuLine pass-through chamber's UL-B fire-rated door with easy-grip knob (No. 2634-72).
  • Fire-rated access panels carry the UL-B label for 90-minute fire exposure (suitable for 2-hour wall rating)
  • Electropolished 304 stainless steel chamber provides a durable, chemical-resistant pass-through hatch
  • Standard and CleamSeam models: Access door on non-rated side includes LiftLatch and static-dissipative PVC viewing window
  • ValuLine models: access doors include expansion latches

These pass-through chambers are designed for installation in a fire-rated cleanroom or laboratory wall. They allow transfer of materials into and out of the controlled environment, and their rugged interlock mechanism offers high reliability with no maintenance (door interlocks not included on ValuLine models).

Fire-Rated Access Doors

Each chamber features a 2.56" (65 mm) -thick, uninsulated electropolished 304 stainless steel access panel (door) with a pull handle. Its one-inch exposed flange can be mounted on any typical wall material. These modules bear a UL- listed “B” label for 1.5 hours in walls (maximum temperature rise to 250°F (121°C) in 30 minutes). Both doors are self-closing.

Three stainless steel chamber designs are available. Standard models are electropolished with non-continuous seam welds and flush handle on fire-rated door. CleanSeam™ models feature the flush door handle and continuous-seam welds, minimizing the chance of particle influx and making them easy to clean and sterilize. Finally, economical ValuLine™ pass-through chamber designs are fabricated with non-continuous seam welds, non-electropolished 304 stainless steel, and an easy-grip knurled door knob.

Modifications are no problem, as long as you keep these points in mind to retain the UL-B fire-rating:
  • Door thickness cannot be modified
  • Pass-through chamber width and height dimensions other than what is shown in the ordering chart are possible, but are restricted to the outside dimensional (OD) range between 12” W x 12” H and 36” W x 48”H

  • Discuss your specific needs with a Terra Product Specialist.

Fire-Rated Pass-Through Installation

Pass-Through Installation
Fire-Rated Pass-Through Chambers can be installed in a number of ways, depending on the wall or door that will support them. The cut-out size necessary to support each model size is the chamber width and height with an additional 0.5" (13 mm). Terra offers support brackets and hardware to ensure secure mounting (order separately). In most cases, a bracket kit provides ample support. Select support brackets for 36"D (914 mm) wall-mount models to brace the larger chamber. Two brackets are recommended for wide chambers (installed side-by-side on the wall).
