FFU Vapor-Removal & Sanitizing Module

Vapor Removal
FFU Sanitizing Module

Optional Challenge Port
simplifies leak testing
This versatile adapter adds two important capabilities to the WhisperFlow™ Fan/Filter Unit:

Carbon Prefilter removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to ensure a safe, clean process environment. The prefilter also helps compensate for VOC spikes that might occur during certain operations.

Carbon filter depletion depends on VOC concentration; conduct periodic filter break-through tests to determine the proper replacement period for your application.

Photo-Catalytic Oxidation Panel (PCO) removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) remaining in the air stream after they pass the carbon filter. The PCO panel is highly efficient at vapor removal, yet imposes no restriction on air speed, allowing the Fan/Filter Module to maintain air speeds consistent with ISO cleanliness requirements (typically 80-100 feet/minute). The PCO requires UV-C activation for optimal vapor removal efficiency (see below).

PCO panels provide a long service life, typically between 5-10 years, greatly reducing the system cost of ownership!

UV Sanitizer kills most bacteria, viruses and molds to eliminate biological hazards inside the cleanroom. It also energizes the PCO, boosting its vapor-adsorption efficiency.

For each 2' x 4' (610 mm x 1219 mm) FFU, order an Adapter Housing, one charcoal pre-filter, two sanitizing modules, and one PCO panel. Adapter must be ordered together with Terra WhisperFlow™ FFU.

FFU Challenge Port

Air filters keep your environment clean, but validating their integrity can be cumbersome and knowing when to replace them is a challenge. Room designs, applications and staffing make each cleanroom unique. Therefore, it’s important to get baseline measurements of your equipment when first installed, and then set up a schedule for regular monitoring.

Tubing fits into both the orange challenge port valve and the Magnehelic® gauge to easily record FFU pressure differential.
Upgrade your fan/filter unit (FFU) to include a Terra-installed Challenge Port that both simplifies leak testing and helps establish a filter replacement schedule. The port is 3/8"-diameter, nickel-plated brass adapter fitting with a white polypropylene plug.
