The Particulate Exhaust Fan Filter Unit (FFU)
is ideal for removing sub-micron particles, aerosols and fine dust generated inside an enclosure, allowing safe release of HEPA-filtered air. Mounted on a portable vertical or horizontal hood, it is suitable for applications that produce particles unsuitable for exhausting into the surround space. Chemical vapors will not be filtered out; intended for particle contaminants only. The HEPA filter safely removes micro-contaminants down to 0.3µm.

NOTE: The Particle Exhaust FFU is not intended for use with biohazards or compounds that can produce potentially toxic dust.

Quiet, Reliable Operation
The FFU's internal baffle system results in uniform face velocity. The low vibration level ensures minimal disruption of high-precision assembly or test procedures performed inside the hood. The filter unit uses a 3-speed fan/motor with permanently lubricated bearings mounted inside a white powder-coated steel housing.

An electrically-communtated motor (ECM) complies with energy-efficient standards such as California's Title 24 and the European Union's ErP 2015 Directive. The DC brushless motors have internal micro-processors to enable remote monitoring and control (such as off-hour enery-saving mode), ECM FFUs produce lower heat, vibration and decibel levels thatn mechanical AC motors.

Hood Provides a Versatile Enclosure Configured to Your Requirements
Terra manufactures hoods out of several materials to meet a broad range of chemical and cleanliness requirements. Ionization units are an available option for more sterile operations.

Lightweight acrylic affords full visibility of work in progress. Static-Dissipative PVC eliminates static charges and the particles they attract, making it ideal for the most critical contamination requirements. Durable powder-coated steel or 304 stainless steel provides outstanding durability and resistance to most cleaning solvents.

Hoods
All hood materials are housed in a powder-coated steel or stainless steel frame for strength and easy cleaning. Hoods include a transparent, hinged front access sash to shield workers from particulates and aerosols generated in the work area.

A Status Indicator Light comes standard on the Whisperflow Exhaust Hoods. This light glows continuously to show FFUs are turned on, and flash to indicate that FFUs are turned off. It is an easy way to check hood operation from across the room.
