No. 1688-42, Horizontal Laminar Flow (HLF) Hood
Portable, economical system converts any benchtop surface into a vertical laminar flow (VLF) station, select 36" or 48" width (914 mm or 1219 mm)
  • Provides an average air flow speed of 90 feet/minutes (0.46 m/s) measured with HEPA filter
  • Quiet operation: 50 dBA measured 30" (762 mm) from filter face; internal baffling plates and anodized aluminum diffuser panel ensure uniform air speed across the work area
  • Polypropylene hood construction resists a wide range of chemicals, including alcohol and other biocides
  • Includes built-in polypropylene bottom and coved seams for easy cleaning
  • Order with or without spill tray: 0.5" lip contains mess

Ordering Information
Because the attached workstation transmits fan vibration, this design is NOT suitable for delicate operations with scales, balances, and other precision instruments; select Terra's WhisperFlow Hoods instead.

This versatile laminar flow hood gives you a particle-free work environment on any available work surface.

FFU: Quiet, Reliable Operation

It consists of two modules: a polypropylene hood and a fan/filter unit with HEPA particle filter rated at 99.99% efficient with 0.3 micro particles (order hood and FFU separately). Its internal baffle system ensures uniform face velocity, and its 50 dBA noise rating ensures quiet operation. The low vibration level ensures minimal disruption of high-precision assembly or test procedures performed inside the hood. ULPA FFUs, rated 99.99% efficient @ 0.12 µm particles, along with ionization units are also available.

Sturdy, Chemical-Resistant Polypropylene Construction

The 0.5" (13 mm)-thick polypropylene construction offers excellent chemical compatibility, durability, and cleanliness. A hinged front access shield, made of static-dissipative PVC, restricts the air exit and enhances laminar flow. Continuous seams and coved corners simplify cleaning.

IonBar™ Static-Neutralizing Bar (with Installation Kit*)
This low-voltage system safely neutralizes status charges under the hood. Includes mounting kit for installation onto the WhisperFlow™ Fan/Filter Unit.
