CleanMount™ Design Allows Servicing or Replacement without Cleanroom Shutdown!

passthrough replacement steps
Terra's quick-mount system installs in under five minutes, regardless of wall thickness and without contamination
A Inside of flush-mount bracket on opposing side
B Bolt guide extending from nut welded to opposing bracket
C Mounting bolt (one, two or three per side, depending on chamber height) - standard sizes accommodate any wall thicknesses
D Mounting bracket
E Bracket cover
F Standard wall (masonry or drywall)

The simplicity of this CleanMount clamping system makes removal of the pass-through chamber just as easy as installation. If the wall cut-out framing is properly sealed prior to installation, the pass-through can be quickly removed and replaced without ever having to shut down the cleanroom. Maintain the positive-pressure differential and protect the cleanroom environment by sealing off the "dirty side" with plastic sheeting prior to removal. Loosen the lag bolt so that the pass-through lifts out of the wall without contaminating the room. Once out, the pass-through can be serviced, modified, or even replaced with an upgraded version to accommodate new applications.

Smooth, Ultra-Clean Surfaces Eliminate Germ Traps, Simplify Cleaning and Disinfection

CleanMount™ BioSafe® Stainless Steel Pass-Through Chambers — Optimized for Aseptic Biological and Pharmaceutical Requirements

These unique Pass Throughs feature all-continuous-seam welds with radius corners to produce ultra-clean, smooth internal surfaces that wipe down quickly and easily. Their no-lip design eliminates clearance restrictions and gives you full use of the chamber interior. This design simplifies the transfer of materials into and out of the cleanroom or laboratory.

All components of these chambers have been engineered to optimize cleanliness and simplify disinfection. The doors feature inset polyurethane, a durable, chemically resistant, non-contaminating elastomer, which seals against the raised edge along the chamber perimeter. This bioseal eliminates the need for adhesive gaskets that can creep, crack and outgas.

Flush-Mounting System Designed for Fast, Clean Installation

Once the wall cut-out has been framed and finished, the flush-mounted design uses a long lag bolt to pull the mounting brackets together, securing the entire pass-through to the wall in a single step. The ease and speed of installation makes it possible to remove and replace a flush-mounted pass-through without compromising the cleanroom environment, which allows for servicing or upgrading the pass-through. Prior to sliding the pass-through out of the wall, seal off the dirty side using plastic sheeting and the positive pressure from the cleanroom will cover any small gaps.

Unique Pass-Through Door Interlock Eliminates Cross-Contamination

The rugged automatic interlock mechanism prevents the handle and latch of either door from moving when the opposing door is open, protecting your cleanroom or laboratory from contamination during material transfer. The rugged latch pins auto-engages when a door opens and resist up to 200 pounds (90.7 kg) of force, ensuring that an interlocked door cannot be forced open.

The isolated interlock design further optimizes cleanliness. Because the mechanism is installed in its own, narrow-profile housing, the inside of the pass-through chamber remains unobstructed and easy to sterilize.

All models include two sets of stainless steel mounting brackets, which help support the chamber and frame the wall cut-out. Standard configuration is one mounting bracket welded 2" (51 mm) from the front of the chamber on the “clean” side; the second bracket is bolted to the wall on the “dirty” side and fits tightly against the chamber. This design accommodates walls of varying thicknesses and ensures minimal intrusion into valuable cleanroom space. Specify other desired bracket location when ordering.
