Dr. Martinez earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California. He has thirty-seven years of experience in several areas of pharmacy administration including clinical pharmacy practice, sterile and non-sterile compounding, pharmacy and LTC pharmacy ownership, management of home health nursing agencies, clinical laboratories and other clinical programs servicing the health care industry.
He has developed pharmacy operations on a national scale to include infusion services, nutritional support, oxygen and home medical equipment services, consulting services, marketing and sales. He has been a founder, a director and has held senior executive positions with national health care corporations, both privately held and public. He also founded Strategic Drug Solutions, Inc., a research corporation to commercialize intellectual properties developed by university researchers.
Dr. Martinez is currently the Vice Dean at Western University of Health Sciences, a charter member of the Board of Advisors and has been a preceptor, mentor and lecturer throughout his professional career as well as serving on local, state and national pharmacy associations in various leadership capacities. Dr. Martinez teaches fourth-year student pharmacists in an advanced elective entrepreneurial course for pharmacy ownership and management which includes pharmacist-in-charge training. Dr. Martinez in recent years has served as faculty for WesternU College of Pharmacy ACPE Continuing Education program as a compounding instructor and as a consultant to the pharmacy industry in pharmacy operations including expert compliance in USP <795>, USP <797> and USP <800>.
