Terra's unique Horizontal Laminar-Flow Cleanroom is designed as an alternative to traditional vertical-flow, positive-pressure cleanrooms; some processes or samples are best handled when placed closer to the source of filtered laminar airflow, as well as upstream from personnel. The turbulent effect of air striking the work surface is reduced in a HLF environment.
In buildings with ceiling-height restrictions, top-mounted fan/filter units may not be possible due to clearance requirements. Terra's lower-profile HLF cleanroom solves this problem. The powder-coated steel frame supports wall panels, ceiling , control panel, lights and fan modules.
Choose a swing or sliding door, or a flexible strip shield entrance (with strip shields, no wall vents are necessary for air release).
WhisperFlowâ„¢ FFUs make laminar airflow uniform across the entire filter face; dead zones cause turbulent eddies that compromise cleanliness. Internal baffles and blower speed control ensure balance and homogeneity. In a Horizontal Laminar Flow cleanroom, the FFU proximity makes filter replacement easier and faster; no need for ladders or standing platforms.
Typical HLF Cleanroom internal height is 7' (8' external), but the room will be designed to your specifications. The fan/filter units need a 24-inch clearance from walls or other furnishings: 13" for FFU housing, with an additional 11" for proper air flow.
This cleanroom is designed for particle-sensitive applications but does not protect operators against hazardous fumes, vapors or aerosols. Talk to a Terra Product Specialist for operations involving hazardous fumes.
