Hood Materials Ordering Guide

How to Order:

Optional panel kits are available for models with interchangeable side panels. Application specific materials help support required conditions inside your laminar flow hood.

    Standard Panel Configurations:
    • [-SS] 304 Stainless Steel (with transparent SD-PVC sash)
      • Solid stainless steel walls simplify cleaning by minimizing cracks and crevices where particles or germs can accumulate.
      • Superior durability resists corrosion from a wide range of chemicals/solvents
      • Preferred material wherever frequent cleaning and sterilization are required
      • Not compatible with interchangeable panel kits
    • [-SD] Static-Dissipative PVC (SD-PVC)
      • Transparent with blue-gray tint
      • Safely conducts surface charges to ground, protects against particle aggregation
      • Broad resistance to wide range of cleaning agents such as isopropyl alcohol for easy sterilization
Additional high performance panel kits available:
    • [-PC] Polycarbonate
      • Transparent with slight gray tint
      • Cracks less easily with approx. 250x impact resistance of glass and 15x impact resistance of acrylic
      • Increased thermal resistance (115–130 °C (239–266 °F)) helps withstand repeated steam sterilization
      • Broad resistance to wide range of cleaning agents such as isopropyl alcohol for easy sterilization
    • [-BA] Black Acrylic (with transparent SD-PVC sash)
      • Opaque black panels block ambient light for photo-sensitive applications or improved privacy
      • Economical, and provides high tensile strength
      • Damaged by frequent contact with alcohol and other common cleaning agents
    • [-TG] Tempered Glass
      • Combines visual clarity with broad chemical resistance
    • [-AA] Amber Acrylic
      • Orange tint filters out UV and blue light to protect light sensitive materials from degrading, or changing composition
      • Economical and provides high tensile strength
      • Damaged by frequent contact with alcohol and other common cleaning agents
    • [-WA] White Acrylic (with transparent SD-PVC sash)
      • Translucent, diffuses ambient light and provides some privacy
      • Economical and provides high tensile strength
      • Damaged by frequent contact with alcohol and other common cleaning agents
    • [-FP] FM4910 Polypropylene (with transparent SD-PVC sash)
      • Opaque white panels block light for light-sensitive applications or improved privacy
      • FM 4910 compliant, flame retardant
      • Excellent chemical resistance
    • [-FV] FM4910 CPVC
      • Transparent with slight blue tint
      • FM 4910 compliant, flame retardant
      • Controls static electricity, prevents charge generation on the surface thereby controlling particle attraction
      • Excellent chemical resistance, surface hardness, and mar resistance
