Portable Wire-Bond Strength Tester

The test sample is first positioned on the accessory chuck, which adjusts to fit various packages. The Wire-Bond Strength Tester is designed for use with most standard wire bond chucks; the magnetic accessory chuck is suitable for most applications. Next, you position the pull hook under the wire to be tested with the aid of a microscope (not included; integrated Wire-Bond Strength Tester Inspection Station also available). To conduct nondestructive tests, you simply adjust the stop-screw (which limits the movement of the swing-bracket) until the gauge shows the desired pull force. Because the wire-loop heights of finished bonds are within close tolerances, this limited force testing can be performed with sufficient accuracy to ensure that wire bonds are good.
