Horizontal Laminar Flow Station Airflow Diagram
Multi-speed filter/blower modules provide a continuous wash of HEPA-filtered air for process protection. Internal baffling plates and diffuser panel ensures uniform air speed across work area; make-up air return slots minimize edge turbulence and extend filter life.
Air Return Ducts
For enhanced air-stream control, the flow station features return ducts along the edges of the hood opening. These ducts reduce backwash caused by placing objects near the work surface edge, a common source of turbulence inside a clean bench.
Simple User Interface
Operator controls include the ON/OFF switches, blower speed controls, and a Minihelic™ backpressure gauge for monitoring the load on the HEPA filter. When the backpressure roughly doubles from the initial readings, the filter needs replacing.
GFCI Duplex Outlet for Operational Convenience
A GFCI power receptacle is installed on the right-hand side of the hood interior for operational convenience. GFCI outlets help prevent electric shock and damage to your electrical devices. Alternate mounting locations can be specified at time of order.
HEPA Filter Access Panels
For horizontal laminar flow hoods, the rear vent panel can be easily removed to access the HEPA filters.
Status Indicator Light
The Terra Universal logo incorporates an LED light that functions as a status indicator. The TUI logo will flash when the unit is connected to power, but the blower is switched off. A solid glow indicates the station is fully operational.

Terra’s signature white powder coat finish provides a high quality, durable barrier to protect against corrosion, plus a clean and attractive aesthetic. The advanced heat-fused formulation exceeds ASTM and ISO paint standards to resist chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing.
Exposure to loud noises can lower the ability to focus on work and listen selectively, which may also lead to safety issues. Typical AC units can be annoyingly loud, measuring in the range of 70 dB (comparable to a vacuum cleaner). Terra’s WhisperFlow design produces far lower noise levels for a quiet environment comparable to a library. At 90 ft/min output, units measure under 50 dB from only 1 ft away (roughly 75% quieter than 70dB).

ISO 5 Vertical Laminar Flow Clean Bench with Automatic Height Adjusting Table
Automatic height adjusting tables fit perfectly inside free-standing laminar flow clean benches. The separate workstation helps isolate vibration from the fans mounted above the hood. Dual motor electric height adjusting columns beneath the table allow users to quickly raise or lower the work surface without moving equipment off the table.

Utility Valves
Ball valves (petcocks) are available for utilities such as nitrogen, compressed air, vacuum, DI water, or other process gases. Valves are composed of chrome-plated steel or ABS plastic.
