  • A variety of models ensure safe lighting in the presence of flammable vapors and dusts
  • Vapor-sealed models are ideal for Class I, Division 2 environments
  • Explosion-proof model is suitable for Class 1, Division 1 environments
  • Static-Dissipative PVC (available on select housings) helps control static charges and the particles they attract

These illuminators help meet safety requirements in applications involving flammable dust or vapor. They are ideal for use in a variety of work stations.

Vapor-Proof Design Features Air-Tight Seal
Terra offers several sizes of fluorescent vapor-sealed illuminators designed for use near potentially flammable vapors. Vapor-sealed models are suitable for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations, as defined by the National Electrical Code (NEC). (Class I defines the hazard as a combustible vapor or gas atmosphere; Division 2 restricts use to those locations in which volatile fluids or gases are handled, processed or used, but in which the hazardous liquids, vapors or gases will normally be confined within closed containers or closed systems from which they can escape only in case of accidental rupture or breakdown of equipment. These fixtures are not designed for Class 1, Division 1 hazardous locations.)

Models No. 2400-40 through 2400-49 feature a Static-Dissipative PVC sealed housing that resists a wide range of chemicals and also helps control static charges and the particles they attract. This material maintains a surface resistivity of about 107 ohms/square, making it ideal for use around materials sensitive to ESD (electrostatic discharge).

Explosion-Proof Illuminator For Optimal Safety
This incandescent hazardous-environment illuminator meets a broad range locations defined by the National Electrical Code (NEC): Class I, Div. 1 and 2 (Groups C and D); Class II, Div. 1 and 2 (Groups E and F); and Class III, Div. 1 and 2 (all groups). It is thus suitable for locations in which ignitable mixtures exist under normal conditions.

It includes a mounting hood for easy installation in a ceiling panel or sealed enclosure.

All models for 110VAC/60Hz operation (for 220VAC, add "220" to the cat., no.)
