compatibility with solvents
- Interior features coved corners for easy cleaning
- Water cooling jacket controls tank temperature, keeping
solvents safely below flashpoint
- Heater includes overtemperature protection for safety
- Class I, Division II models available for operation with
explosive materials
- Pricing includes installation in any Terra wet processing
or solvent cleaning bench
These ultrasonic tanks meet key requirements for solvent
and other cleaning operations: purity, consistency, and safety.
Ultrasonic cleaning: safe,
effective and fast Ultrasonic excitation boosts the speed
and effectiveness of the solvent cleaning process, thereby
lowering overall cost.
A solid state electronic generator converts standard electrical
current into electrical energy of a higher frequency. A transducer
then converts this energy into sound waves, causing vacuum
cavities (cavitation bubbles) in the liquid as alternative
positive and negative pressure areas are produced. The pressure
exerted by the imploding bubbles accomplishes a scrubbing
action, resulting in rapid, efficient and gentle cleaning.
The small size of the bubbles permits their penetration into
areas inaccessible to sprays or brushes, making ultrasonics
the perfect solution to cleaning interior spaces, blind holes,
crevices, and other microelectronic features.
All models are fabricated of 14-gauge 316 electropolished
304 stainless steel for optimal purity and durability. Coved
corners facilitate easy cleaning, and a 304 stainless steel
drain port allows easy chemical disposal. The transducers
are housed within a 304 stainless steel wrap with a #3 finish.
A water cooling jacket controls tank temperatures to keep
solvents below flashpoint. All ultrasonic tanks operate
at 40 kHz.
A heating element provides up to 5000 Watts of heating
power to enhance cleaning efficiency. An overtemperature
protection safeguards heating operations.
Terra also offers Class I, Division II models which include
a sealed transducer compartment with fittings for a nitrogen
purge. (Note: Class I, Division II models are not
available with heating capabilities.)
Optional Overflow Recirculation/Filtration
Unit
Consists of a 10", 5-micron filter cartridge in a 304 stainless
steel filter housing to filter the cleaning solution.
Recirculation is provided by a stainless steel pump with
Teflon seals. A four-sided spill weir collects the overflow
and removes all floating contamination.

Other Ultrasonic Tanks Available!
The economical heated benchtop tanks pictured at right
can be installed onto any Terra wet processing station.
These 40kHz models feature nominal tank capacities of 1.9,
5.6, or 11.2 gallons. Ultrasonic generators are separate from
tanks, allow remote installation. Tanks are made of 316L heavy-gauge
304 stainless steel. |
