The Secador ® Techni-Dome® 360 Vacuum Desiccator safely stores generous quantities of samples, electronics or other high value items. This patented model offers up to four times more volume, 65 liters (4,000 cu. in.) than most other large benchtop units. With space for items up to 45cm (18") tall or wide, the Techni-Dome® Vacuum Desiccator provides more storage in a single chamber than traditional plastic or glass vacuum desiccator units.

The clear polycarbonate top and bottom allows the user to view contents easily.  This construction is lightweight, chemical resistant, and cleans easily. Side handles interconnect to prevent displacement of the dome top when not under vacuum and also let you lock the desiccator. Safety locator pins are built in to prevent the top half from slipping off the bottom half when raising one side of the lid to add or remove samples.

This high strength desiccator will hold a full vacuum (29" Hg, 737mm) at room temperature for 24 hours and remain airtight even if not under vacuum. The included gasket, with an application of vacuum grease assures a tight seal down to 0ºC.

The polypropylene stopcock has a Teflon® plug that turns easily to allow a slow, turbulence free entrance of air which minimizes the disturbance of contents. The stopcock has a high visibility red handle and accepts 6.4mm (1/4") I.D. tubing.

Two round polypropylene shelves are included, which maximize storage capacity and can be lifted out for easy access or to accommodate awkward-size items. Desiccant (order separately) can also be used on or under the lower shelf when vacuum is not required. The desiccant cartridge is filled with silica gel beads which change color from blue when dry to pink when moist. Saturated gel can be repeatedly regenerated without degradation in a vented oven.
